Idea that could change my music to another level

Posted by FantasistEldrun - 2 days ago

Look guys. I really dont know where this is going to make me go, but...

Do you think too I shall try to remix my samples with audacity to make them feel more... Authentic ? (I dont know if this word exists in english... ANYWAY)

Please tell me your opinion, I've been searching how to use unique samples without learning instruments or how to use tripleoscillator and vibed for a week now :'D

Audacity is a great place to start! It’s where I and many others started. But if you really want to dive into it, please allow me to make a recommendation-

Mixcraft served me dutifully for many years. If you look at a lot of my tracks between 2013-2016 you’ll see different versions of it varying from Mixcraft 3- Mixcraft 7 Pro Studio.

It is very similar in its layout to audacity, and will feel very natural in transition- like slipping into a pair of new shoes that are just the right size.

The Pro versions cost money, but I’m fairly certain they offer a “Lite” version Thats free- but you won’t be able to lease any music you made for money.

That’s a thing I’ve strictly avoided digitally speaking- I never try to sell my music, so copyright never interests me. That said, it is my understanding that purchasing Mixcraft Pro Studio grants you copyright freedom with all their loops.

If you are on a Mac- never underestimate GarageBand. :)

Thank you so much for the reccomandation !

Yeah, I'll try that so... My only question is : Since I'll not sell my songs, will I still have the option to accept donations from people if I make something for this someday ?

@FantasistEldrun Your journey is entirely between you and God- or whatever you choose to believe/not believe in. This is true of your musical journey as well.

I choose personally not to market my music because I believe it to be a divine gift, something I should share, rather than profit from. Many don’t feel this way about their music, and that’s alright, too.

I’ve worked with people over the years whose entire income was their music, and I find that not only respectable but impressive. It’s not an easy business in which to gain a foothold, let me tell you.

But your life is the divine gift. So long as you go on living, you will go on experiencing and then sharing your experiences through your art. That’s a beautiful thing, no matter how much money is involved.

Don’t rush new DAW’s (Designer Audio Workshops) either. If you are comfortable in Audacity, work with Audacity until it feels like it no longer meets the quality standard you desire to set for your finished works. At *that* point, I’d start looking at breaking into a new software for new sounds, new tools.

Thank you for your answer :)

Yeah, to be honest the concept of making money from my music isnt the point for me, but if I can live without being on something else I cannot ask better :D

Sharing music is like telling my story in a way only some people like me can understand... I just got that

My only real goal behind the first audacity idea were to give life to my music without living my computer, if another tool can help me to do that, except if the tool is too hard for me right now (like LMMS was at the start !) I will take it. And if it is too hard, I'll find my way to learn !

@NeoAlchemist247 "Don’t rush new DAW’s (Designer Audio Workshops) either."

I know this wasn't directed towards me but I really needed to hear that so thanks! Made me feel better about struggling with my new software. These things just take time.

I don't know what Audacity is but if you believe it might help you make/improve your music then it never hurts to try! :D

I'll try it bc why not xD
